TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Vigo County Dispatch reported Friday that a train was stopped on tracks between 6th Ave. and Maple Ave. blocking a wide swath of traffic. Sheriee S. Bowman, Media Relations Manager for CSX Transportation, reported that the train is on the move.

Earlier, she issued a statement that read, “At approximately 1 p.m. ET this afternoon, a CSX train experienced a mechanical problem causing it to stop on the tracks blocking multiple crossings in downtown Terre Haute, Ind. Crews are on the site making repairs and conducting further inspections. There is not yet an estimate on when the train will be cleared to move.  We apologize for any inconvenience this is causing the community.”
