CLINTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A train hit a Jeep around 3 p.m. Monday near White Construction in Clinton, Ind., injuring the driver.

Jessica Kurdelak, 40, Terre Haute, Ind., was attempting to cross a set of train tracks on a private drive near the construction company when her Jeep was struck by a CSX train, Vermillion County Sheriff Mike Phelps said in a news release Tuesday. Kurdelak’s SUV was pushed around a half mile north by the train before both came to a full stop.

Kurdelak was able to leave the car on her own and was later taken to Union Hospital to treat non-life threatening injuries, Phelps said.
