WASHINGTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Washington man and woman have been arrested after a traffic stop led to the search of a Washington residence.
According to the Washington Police Department, an arrest occurred following a traffic stop on West Main Street on Tuesday, May 2. During the stop police found Michael P. Moore, 42, of Washington, to be in possession of 7.5 grams of methamphetamine.
A search of his residence reportedly turned up additional methamphetamine as well as prescription pills, syringes, paraphernalia, and other items related to the distribution of narcotics. Police also arrested 23-year-old Claudia L. Hopkins at the residence.
Moore has been preliminarily charged with the following:
- Dealing methamphetamine
- Maintaining a common nuisance
- Possession of a syringe
- Possession of paraphernalia
Hopkins was reportedly charged with the following:
- Possession of methamphetamine
- Maintaining a common nuisance
- Possession of a syringe
- Possession of paraphernalia
Assisting in the arrests were the Vincennes Police Department, Indiana State Police, DEA Task Force, Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, and members of the Pike County Sheriff’s Office.
