CLARK COUNTY, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — Residents in the Marshall area can expect more sections of US 40 to be blocked off after the Illinois Department of Transportation announced a closure due to a culvert replacement.

According to officials, US 40 will be closed from Sixth Street to Mohawk Drive in Marshall beginning Monday, April 24.

The closure is expected to be in place until Friday, May 26. IDOT said the work will address flooding issues in the area.

A detour is already posted utilizing North York Street north of Martinsville, Interstate 70 and Illinois 1 because of the closure of U.S. 40 west of Marshall.
