TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — There is no indication of foul play in the Sunday drowning death of a Vigo County toddler, according to Vigo County Sheriff John Plasse.

“This appears to be a tragic accident,” Plasse said.

Twenty-month old Isabella Ellington was pronounced dead after falling into a southern Vigo County lake.

The Vigo County Sheriff’s Department said Ellington was one of two toddlers who fell into a lake behind a residence on Daniel Street Sunday.

Both children were immediately provided medical attention and transported to Regional Hospital. The second child, a 2-year-old female, was transported to an Indianapolis hospital.

Isabella later died at the hospital. The other child was transported to an Indianapolis hospital.

The sheriff’s department and Department of Natural Resources still investigating the incident; however Plasse said he does not anticipate any criminal charges being filed.
