TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – First responders battled it out for charity Monday night in the Guns vs. Hoses Demolition Derby at the Vigo County Fair.

The event featured Indiana State Police, West Terre Haute and Terre Haute PD, along with the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office on one team.

The other team included fire departments from Terre Haute, West Terre Haute, Sugar Creek and Otter Creek.

In the end, the team of Law Enforcement officers ended up reigning supreme.

“The charity we were running for this evening was Tiny Homes for Veterans. We’ve been working with the Terre Haute Realtor Association and it was a really good night,” Sgt. Matt Ames with Indiana State Police said.

The organization, Tiny Homes for Veterans received $3,000 from the event.
