TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The past three weeks, Terre Haute South’s marching band has won first place in multiple invitational competitions.

On October 8, the band heads to Whiteland High School to compete for a spot in the state finals against several high schools. The band’s piece that they’ve been working on is called Heavy Metal.

Assistant Band Director, Todd Norris, said they have been working hard this year.

“We love our kids. These kids are amazing. We have you know some great leadership. Especially from our seniors this year they’ve really helped push our band forward and really get our younger members to come out and perform their absolute best,” Norris said.

Terre Haute South’s Marching Band will also be hosting a designer purse bingo fundraiser. That’s on October 15th and all proceeds go toward the marching band. To pre-register for tickets visit their website at eventbrite.com.
