TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Two men have been arrested following a police pursuit through portions of Terre Haute and West Terre Haute.

According to Terre Haute Police Sgt. Justin Sears, the incident began at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday with an attempted traffic stop for multiple equipment violations near the intersection of N. 10th and Chestnut Streets.

The pursuit went north onto S.R. 63 before turning westbound on U.S. 150, police said, eventually ending after some assistance from the Vigo County Sheriff’s deputies, who deployed stop sticks at the intersection of 7th Street and Poplar Street in West Terre Haute.

Police said a search of the vehicle turned up methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a recovered stolen handgun.

Both the driver and passenger were arrested as a result, their preliminary charges are as follows;

  • Kyle Morgenstern
    • 24 years old of Palestine, Ill.
    • Arrested for:
      • Resisting law enforcement
      • Reckless driving
      • Bond violation warrant out of Illinois
  • Lee Schlosser
    • 25 years old of Marshall, Ill.
    • Arrested for:
      • Possession of a stolen firearm
      • Possession of a hypodermic syringe

Both men were taken to then taken to the Vigo County Jail.
