TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Police in Terre Haute said the arrest of a 36-year-old man stemmed from reports he was firing shots at random from two handguns while walking down 13 1/2 street.
Police said the incident occurred at 4:57 p.m. on Sunday when officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of N. 13 1/2 street for reports of “an individual walking down the street and aimlessly firing rounds from two handguns.”
Police determined that the man had returned to his residence by the time they arrived. Officers then surrounded the home and ordered the man to exit. Police said Thai A. Leonard then exited the structure, but refused to obey orders and was subsequently hit with a stun gun before being placed under arrest.
According to THPD, Leonard was found to be in possession of multiple firearms. He’s been preliminarily charged with criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and intimidation with a deadly weapon.
