TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO /WAWV) — Terre Haute Police investigated an incident involving a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle Thursday morning.

According to THPD Sgt. Justin Sears, the person who was struck was taken to Regional Hospital for treatment of injuries that do not appear to be life threatening. Sears said the person was conscious and alert at the time of transport.

Southbound traffic along 3rd Street (U.S. 41) was shut down for a time between Hulman and Voorhees Streets as the Vigo County Accident Reconstruction Team aided officers in the investigation according to a post on the THPD Facebook page.

Names of those involved have not been released, and Sears said the investigation remains ongoing.
