TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Update: After the eastside Walmart in Terre Haute had been evacuated due to a bomb threat, the Terre Haute Police have confirmed that customers and employees can reenter the building.
THPD made a post stating that the building had been searched extensively and has since been deemed safe for reentry.

Original: Customers and staff have been evacuated from Terre Haute’s eastside Walmart as law enforcement investigates a bomb threat.
Terre Haute Police Sgt. Justin Sears confirmed the evacuation of the building located on S.R. 46. Sears said the evacuation was done as a precautionary measure following the report of a threat.
WTWO’s David Shepherd confirmed that the Terre Haute Police Department and Terre Haute Fire Department responded to the area. Shepherd also confirmed that as of 2:00 p.m. the store was still evacuated.
THPD officers are investigating the situation. No other information has been released at this time. Members of the public are asked to avoid the area.
