TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WAWV/WTWO) – The Terre Haute Humane offered discounted adoptions May 21st in memory of Chloe Carroll.

15-year-old Chloe Carroll aspired to be a veterinarian but was shot and killed in the summer of 2021. Carroll’s parents set up a memorial fund for the shelter to provide that extra medical attention for the animals.

Saturday the community had the opportunity to adopt a furry for $25 off for their first Chole Carrol Adoption Day.

Adoption Couincelier Penny Oldham said while the Humane Society has hosted many events, this is one of the more meaningful ones.

“Every month we do try to do different things for people but Chole Carroll is really close to our hearts,” Carroll. “That being said we plan to hold more events like this in her memory.”

Oldham said the memorial fund has already helped treat heartworms as well as provided amputees for several animals.
