TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WAWV/WTWO) – The Mill in Terre Haute hosted its first ever food truck Friday on June 17.

The event allowed the community to shop, eat, and network locally.

Those that stopped by had an opportunity to eat from six different food trucks, as well as shop from three local businesses.

The Mill also had its bar and box office open to the public.

Co-owner of The Mill Kelly Drake said events like Food Truck Friday allow local businesses to expand their connections with the community.

“We normally only have about two food trucks at our concerts so this was an opportunity to bring in more vendors and support local groups that have food trucks and pop up shops,” Drake said.

The Mill gates reopened in the evening for musical entertainment from four local artists. A $10 cover charge was collected at the gate past 5 p.m.

Drake said they hope to host similar events like this later this summer.
