TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — According to a press release from the Churchill Downs Foundation, Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI), the sponsor of Terre Haute’s upcoming casino is changing the name of the establishment.

While many people in the area have been following along with the progress of the construction of what was once known as the Queen of Terre Haute Casino, in an effort to be more cohesive in branding representation, CDI has chosen to rename the project Terre Haute Casino Resort.

The release states that a reference to “Queen” will still be involved in the casino’s logo to maintain the connection to Terre Haute’s history and culture.

The release also mentioned that the design plans for the casino and adjoined hotel will also stay centered on the traditions of Terre Haute while the multiple food and beverages offered will pay tribute to the town in noticeable and unique ways.
