TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Terre Haute summer camp is looking to hire more staff members interested in teaching children leadership and communication skills.

Camp Navigate, a summer camp with a mission to teach children workforce development skills, already has over 170 campers signed up for summer 2021. The camp, which is set to be held at World Gospel Church on Gardendale Road, still has some spots available for both staff and campers.

“Research shows you can start as young as pre-school to start instilling these things about respect and leadership and how to be kind to each other, how to understand how other people are feeling,” Executive Director Eleanor Ramseier said. “Those can start at an early age and then you start developing into leadership skills and teamwork and all these things gradually develop over time.”

The camp is currently hiring coach mentors as well as teen navigators to supervise and educate the campers. This year’s camp theme is “Sea Change: Navigating our Future Together.” Any interested candidates can get more information on Camp Navigate’s website.
