TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– Terre Haute Salvation Army is looking for volunteers to serve as bell ringers during their Red Kettle Campaign.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the non-profit organization has seen a decrease in volunteers.
The money raised during their Red Kettle Campaign funds their year round charity efforts like their utility assistance program.
Those with the Salvation Army said they’ve seen double the amount of requests for assistance due to the pandemic.
Sue Linden, Envoy for the Terre Haute Salvation Army, said they need the community’s help to assist those in need.
“The Red Kettle Campaign is from the community to the community. We’re here to support the community, so the money we raise is for the community. It’s more important now than ever because our case loads have doubled, if not tripled due to COVID-19.”
