TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– Drivers are being asked to avoid a section of Springhill Drive following a derailed train car Saturday afternoon.

The Vigo County Sheriff’s Department said that Springhill Drive was closed between Fagin Street and Erie Canal Road. A WTWO reporter on scene observed crews working on a train car that went off the rails in the area. A Facebook post from the Honey Creek Fire Department confirmed the road is now reopened.

Sheriff John Plasse said an engineer suffered a minor shoulder injury, but there were no major injuries on the scene.
