TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Terre Haute residents teamed up with representatives from Edward Jones Investments Wednesday to help clean up the downtown area.

The event, put on by “Downtown Terre Haute,” involved volunteers picking up trash along the streets and ridding the downtown area of any clutter or litter.

Those in attendance at the event said they hoped their work would help prepare the city for winter activities.

“This is one way that we can kind of step forward and hopefully do a little bit to make downtown look better,” volunteer Mark Metheny, a financial advisor with Edward Jones, said.

A dozen people took part in Wednesday’s cleanup.
