TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Families put on those Halloween costumes and get ready to collect some candy.
This Thursday, the Terre Haute Parks Department will hold a Trunk or Treat event at Deming Park.
The event will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and there will be 20 vendors handing out candy including the fire department, police department, and local charities and organizations.
Kilie Smith the city’s director of recreation, said this event is a fun and safe way to go trick-or-treating.
“I think it’s so important to have these types of events to really welcome the entire family to enjoy the spirit of Halloween together. It brings the whole community together in really safe area. We love to make sure that we have events that are available for everyone at a low cost for some family fun. It’s just so important to bring everybody together to spread some of that Halloween spirit,” Smith said.
Later this week, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Oct. 20 and 21, Deming Park will host an Unhaunted Halloween event that will feature all sorts of Halloween-themed activities for children, including train rides and hay rides for $4.
