TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Terre Haute man and twice-convicted child molester was sentenced in Vigo County court Monday to 10 years in prison after being found guilty of possessing child pornography.

John Rice, Jr., 69, of Terre Haute, Ind., was arrested in December of 2019 and charged with Possession of Child Pornography and was alleged to be a habitual offender. Rice had previously been arrested for child molestation charges in 2000 and 2005 and was found guilty both times.

Rice was sentenced to 10 years on Nov. 1 after pleading guilty to five counts of child molestation and admitting to being a habitual offender, which stemmed from his previous charges in Clay County.
