TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WAWV/WTWO) – Severe weather on April 14th caused a tree to collapse on the roof of the Terre Haute Humane Society.

The shelters insurance estimated damage costs from the tree to be about $70,000.

However, according to Executive Director Charles Brown things are looking up since the initial damage a month ago.

“The Humane Society has identified a contractor and our hope is to have things going by next week,” Brown said.

Brown said the community response since the damage has been appreciated by all members of the shelter.

“The community really came together to donate supplies and temporarily foster animals,” Brown said.
