TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Hundreds of firefighters and other guests came together to celebrate the firefighters convention in town this week.
A block party was hosted on Wabash Avenue Wednesday evening, between 7th & 9th streets to celebrate the convention, and the visiting firefighters. The event was open to the public.
Those who attended got to enjoy food, beverages, and a performance from the cover band Phreak Show.
President of the Terre Haute Firefighter Bob Malone said the event is a great way to celebrate.
“This take an army. My convention committee, there’s so many names they know who they are if they’re watching this, but I couldn’t of done it without them. And I truly thank each and every one of them,” Malone said.
The annual convention hosted by Terre Haute Firefighters Local 758 is taking place in Terre haute for the first time this year.
