TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — There is just a little over a month before the grand opening of the Terre Haute Convention Center.

Convention Center General Manager Tennille Wanner said the facility recently obtained its Certificate of Occupancy and is currently moving everything into the building.

The center is also currently hiring for both part-time and full-time positions. Job fairs will take place on March 16 and March 19 at the facility located at 800 Wabash Avenue.

Wanner said the convention center came together beautifully and that the venue is very versatile.

“We can accommodate events from a five-person meeting up to an 800-person banquet,” Wanner said. “So, we can really do a lot in this facility.”

Convention center officials are asking the public to join them for a grand opening celebration on April 9. There are some fun activities planned for the big day.

“To see it and to be able to invite the public to come see it and enjoy it, it is just an amazing feeling,” Pam Chamberlain, director of sales and marketing, said. “It’s historical for Terre Haute and I’m just grateful to be a part of it.”

The grand opening will go from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on April 9.
