TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The downtown Terre Haute Convention Center is getting ready to open its doors and the public is invited to come and take a look around inside.
It all begins with a ribbon cutting as the Convention Center holds its Grand Opening celebration Saturday.
Tours of the convention center will be available, and the Business Expo in the ballroom will be underway for visitors to browse.
A food and beverage tasting will also be available. For folks with little ones, there will be plenty of exciting fun inside and outside along Wabash Avenue. Kids can meet THPD K-9 officers, look at special response team vehicles, shoot hoops with ISU players and even get their faces painted.
A number of community members will be there, including some of the people you see regularly on WTWO/WAWV, as Mike Tank, Dana Winklepleck and Julie Henricks will be on hand at the WTWO Photo Booth. Visitors can get their pictures taken on their own or with WTWO talent if they wish.
The Terre Haute Convention Center is located at 800 Wabash Avenue, the celebration event will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
