TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Council on Domestic Abuse in Terre Haute, also known as CODA, is now certified as a rape crisis center.

The designation is earned by meeting certain criteria. CODA will continue to provide its domestic violence services. But this designation will now allow CODA to better serve survivors of sexual assault.

“We have sexual assault advocates so when someone, for example, calls the police with a sexual assault, they might go to the hospital and our sexual assault advocates can meet them there, and then they can be with them throughout the whole entire process,” said Emily Murray, Executive Director of CODA.

Anyone who needs assistance from CODA can call the shelter at 1-800-566-CODA.
