TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – One of fall’s greatest traditions was being celebrated Saturday with the return of the Oktoberfest in downtown Terre Haute.

The event was hosted by the Terre Haute Brewing Company and Honey’s Bar and Grill. To celebrate THBC debuted a new beer and the Indiana State spirit squad made a surprise appearance.

All of this is to help honor the famous German tradition right here in the Wabash Valley. Dale McCue is the owner of Honey’s, and he talks about what these two companies want to provide to the community.

“What we like to do here is good food, good beer, and good people. ultimately, that is what we do every single day, and we wanted to get everybody out here to get that fall festival season kicked off.”

McCue also added that he is very thankful for all of the support that they have received since partnering with THBC.

“The amount of love and support we’ve gotten since this pairing has been unbelievable. It just shows the true power of word of mouth. Great people spreading the word to other great people can go a long way in this community and I couldn’t be more thankful for it,” McCue added.

The celebration continues next weekend as the German Oberland Club hosts their 50th Oktoberfest celebration.
