TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Local restaurants will add specialty items and discounts during the 6th annual Taste Terre Haute event.
“We’re really excited to have people try new things,” said Danielle Henderson, owner of Meadows Café. “We’re excited to see people coming in to try our restaurant for the first time so we’re hoping to get repeat customers.”
Taste Terre Haute was cancelled last year due to the pandemic. Henderson says that missing out on it last year definitely affected the business, but is looking forward to the future.
5th Street Nutrition is a downtown business that is also participating in the promotional event. 5th Street Nutrition employee, Tyler Hendricks, believes that Taste Terre Haute will bring more attention to downtown.
“The year previous I think it was a great way for us to market ourselves,” said Hendricks. “It’s a really great way for people to just figure out what’s happening in downtown Terre Haute.”
Hendricks said that he is eager to return to normal after missing out on Taste Terre Haute last summer.
“It’s really important for the community because it’s just a great way to support local business. I know that a lot of us are just eager to get back to normal and just help serve our communities the best way we know how.
