VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — This week residents can help make a difference in the lives of the animals at the Terre Haute Humane Society.

WTWO will hold the annual Tail-a-Thon on Wednesday, March 29. The goal is to raise as much money for the shelter as possible.

Last year, the station raised over $26,000 dollars hopes the community will help to raise even more money this year.

Donations are critical to caring for the animals at the shelter and finding them forever homes. Volunteer coordinator Maggie Wheeler says every donation makes a difference.

“We can’t keep the doors open without the support of the community and our doors are busting open with animals right now so we are super, super full which costs even more than normal to maintain,” Wheeler said.

Those interested in participating don’t have to wait until Tail-a-Thon day to donate.

Donations can be made either online on WTWO’s Tail-a-Thon webpage, or by scanning the QR code below.
