SUV found in Wabash River

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Police were notified of an SUV submerged in the Wabash River around 5:00 Monday evening.

The vehicle was located in a section of the river near Robertson Road just off West Harlan Drive in southern Vigo County.

Vigo County Sheriff John Plasse said there’s no indication of how long the SUV had been there, but it was later identified as a stolen vehicle out of Clay County. DNR officials did not locate anybody inside the vehicle.

The vehicle was later pulled out of the river.
