Suspect arrested after being cut while holding someone at gunpoint

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A suspect accused of holding another person at gunpoint ended up hospitalized with a knife injury.

Jason Elder, 35, of Terre Haute, was arrested Wednesday after being released from the hospital.

Elder allegedly held someone at gunpoint Tuesday morning in the 2700 block of N. 12th Street, but ended up being cut when he put the weapon down for a moment.

He was charged with criminal confinement and pointing a firearm. He is also facing several charges including attempted robbery, criminal recklessness, possession of a firearm by a domestic batterer and possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon stemming from an incident that occurred Monday.;
