SULLIVAN, Ind. (WAWV/WTWO) – New art is in the works for one Wabash Valley county.

Work started April 2nd on the first mural at the Riggs Hardware Store on North Main Street in Sullivan.

The Sullivan area art guild received a grant from the Wabash Valley Community Foundation in October of 2021.

The gallery hosted a lunch kick-off for the community outside of the hardware store to learn about the idea proposal.

The focus point for the mural will be ‘patriotism’ and Sullivan Area Art Guild Director Sharon Hawk said the theme fits the community.

“We are a very patriotic community to start with,” Hawk said. “You know and I think they will enjoy and appreciate it.”

The gallery will allow the community to help paint the mural in the upcoming months.
