SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Over the last decade volunteers in Sullivan having been serving dinner to the community every Christmas.
The “Spirit of Sullivan” provides traditional Christmas dinners by either delivering meals or by serving those who attend the dinner in person at the Sullivan County 4-H Campgrounds.
Volunteers expect to serve anywhere from 250 to 350 meals. Organizer Kevin Arnett says volunteering for this event has become a family tradition for many.
“This event is special because this event allows families to serve others and in my specific case, I have a wife and four daughters and every Christmas, we volunteer as a family so it’s servant leadership, for the entire family,” Arnett said.
Dinner will be served between 1:30p.m. and 4:30p.m. on Christmas Day.
