Sullivan Pool looks to welcome back residents

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — After being closed since 2018, the Sullivan pool is looking to open its doors in 2022 with a little help from the public.

After being open for 54 straight years of being open the closure was made due to the property being worn down.

“We are reaching out to them. Help us become a part of something spectacular here,” said Lamb. “A revitalization of our city pool which will benefit all age groups. “Whether you’re 90 years old learning water aerobics. Whether you’re nine years old learning to swim.”

Sullivan Mayor Clint Lamb says many renovations will be made including a new color scheme, diving boards and a top deck that can be used for small gatherings or receptions.

As the city works to provide money to revitalize the city pool Sullivan Mayor Lamb is asking the community for donations as well.

The city of Sullivan has been gathering funds for the pool but still needs help from the public to reach their goal. Anyone who would like to donate can drop off a check for the pool at Sullivan city hall.
