SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Sullivan man is facing numerous charges after leading state troopers on a high-speed chase that ended in him crashing his motorcycle late Friday night.

The Indiana State Police said troopers attempted to stop a motorcycle driven by Jeffery L. Meier, age 59, of Sullivan, after clocking it going 100 MPH. Instead of pulling over, Meier drove through the City of Sullivan, ignoring traffic laws and traveling through yards before losing control and crashing near the intersection of County Road 200 East and County Road 150 N.

Meier attempted to leave the scene, according to ISP, but was quickly apprehended. Troopers said he showed signs of impairment; however, results of a chemical test are still pending. Troopers also said they found a smoking pipe, methamphetamine, marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms in Meier’s possession.

Pending charges include resisting law enforcement, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, reckless driving, and multiple drug-related offenses.
