SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Sullivan County Humane Society is doing it’s best to help reunite lost pets with their families.

Sullivan County Humane Society President of the Board Julie Tow said they have been fortunate to have so much help from the community.

Community members have been donating food, litter, and other supplies for the shelter, and residents around Sullivan who lost their homes to the tornado.

The things they still need are cleaning supplies and monetary donations. The best way to contact the shelter regarding an animal is through Facebook, email, or at 812-268-4201.

“Every animal that comes in we’re posting a picture on our Facebook page and we have had some that have been claimed. We are keeping a few until the people have a residence that they can take their animals,” said Tow.

If you find an animal that is not familiar to your area, post a picture and share it with the Sullivan County Humane Society. Tow said they can get the animals and help locate their owners.
