SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – 14 high school seniors celebrated their past achievements, and looked forward to their futures in the military on Tuesday evening.

The recruits came from all three Sullivan County high schools and were recognized for their commitment to joining the armed forces.

The event was part of the county’s annual Military Send-Off

It was a special night, not only for the students and their families, but also for the veterans in attendance.

“It’s always been something I kinda wanted to do, and seeing my brother in and liking it and really enjoying it, I just wanted to do it too,” new recruit Dylan Pool said. He plans to join the Army National Guard.

The event was held at the Sullivan Elks Lodge. Former WTWO anchor and Sullivan resident Tom McClanahan introduced the new recruits.
