SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A Sullivan County pursuit led to the arrest of a man with an outstanding warrant.

Artie Grimes was arrested on February 3rd after leading deputies on a chase by vehicle and on foot.

A Sheriffs deputy observed a vehicle leave a yard on 2nd Street in Merom. The deputy recognized the driver to be Grimes, and had prior knowledge that Grimes had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

After turning on his lights to initiate a traffic stop, Grimes drove off at high rate of speed. Grimes then drove through multiple yards and came to stop in the yard of a residence.

After coming to a stop, Grimes fled on foot and ran into a home where deputies were able to arrest him.

Grimes is being charged with Resisting Law Enforcement along with his outstanding warrant.
