SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A local animal shelter hopes you’ll join them for an evening of fun while supporting their mission to care for homeless animals in the community.
This Saturday the Sullivan County Humane Society will hold its first Barktober Fest which will take place from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Sullivan Civic Center.
The doors open at 1:00 p.m. with Charlie Archer kicking off the live music at 2:00 p.m. and more bands will perform throughout the evening. There will also be door prizes, vendors, food trucks, games for kids, and a corn hole tournament.
Those 21 and older can also receive a wine glass or beer mug along with free tastings from Meier Winery and Honey’s at Terre Haute Brewing Company.
“We hope to raise some money to help pay for medications and just running of the animal shelter because, like everybody else, costs have gone up tremendously for us and we need money to help care for all the unwanted and stray animals in the county,” said Julie Tow, President of Sullivan County Humane Society.
The entry fee is a $15 donation to the Sullivan County Humane Society.
