TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Middle school students from across the valley put their math skills to the test on Saturday.
More than 140 students from eight different schools participated in the Regional Math-Counts competition.
The competition was held at Rose Hulman and was made up of three different stages. The stages included: testing quickness, problem-solving skills, and teamwork abilities.
“I like to encourage students to study and learn more about math.It’s exciting to watch them get up on a Saturday morning and enjoyed doing math,” Mathematician, Leanne Holder, said.
Woodrow Wilson, Honey Creek, and Otter Creek middle schools are headed to the state competition. This will be held on March 14 at Rose Hulman.
