Students organize virtual 5K to benefit CASY

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Some Indiana State University students are doing their part to help youth in the community by fundraising for this year’s Dancing with the Terre Haute Stars.

The event raises money for Chances and Services for Youth. According to the organization’s website, the event has raised more than $1.8 million dollars for its youth programs since the event’s debut in 2007.

The students, whose professor is participating in the event, hope they can help make it a success by hosting the Haute Heroes for CASY Virtual 5K from November 13 through November 15.

“CASY offers a lot of services from cradle to college age and they’re doing really great stuff in our community, so it’s great to give back to that,” says Ashley Salesman with the fundraiser’s promotions team.

You can learn more about the fundraiser on CASY’s Facebook Page. To see this year’s participants in Dancing with the Terre Haute Stars and support the event, click here.
