VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Update: The Vigo County School Corporation and the Terre Haute Police Department have released statements regarding the arrest of two students that reportedly brought a firearm onto the Davis Park Elementary campus.
According to a post from the Terre Haute Police Department, the gun was “received from one juvenile student to another juvenile student at Davis Park Elementary.” As the investigation is underway, the THPD believes the students’ exchange of the gun took place during school hours on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week and that the gun originally came from a residence off campus. The firearm has since been recovered.
Both juveniles have been arrested for possession of a firearm on school property. THPD also announced that due to both students involved being under the age of 12, their identities will not be released.
Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Terre Haute Police Department at 812-238-1661.
