TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Local tourism officials are looking to gain insight into the population of Terre Haute and visitors by asking everyone to participate in a community census.

The See You in Terre Haute Community Plan and the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce have launched an online survey to gather input from the community.

The survey is open to residents, students, and even visitors from out of the area.

The survey can be found online here and takes just a few minutes to complete. Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce Director of Community Engagement adds that everyone who completes the survey will be eligible to win up to $250 in gift cards.

Depending on the answer given regarding residency, the survey then asks follow-up questions about things like reasons for visiting, what do you like most about living in Terre Haute, and what notions you have about the type of community Terre Haute has.

Alsip said this is the fourth such census survey conducted by the Chamber, and added that the feedback has helped to directly guide decisions for the city’s future.

“It’s your opportunity to get in front of Terre Haute leaders and give your opinion for feedback and review,” Alsip said. “The results that we have gotten in the past have really helped guide our efforts into the future. So, you are helping to provide your input to make a difference in our community. And in the future we’ll be releasing a dashboard that has some of these metrics so community members will be able to see it.”

The survey remains open through the rest of the month of October, click here to provide your feedback.
