VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WAWV/WTWO) —  Monday night Vigo County Casa celebrated its staff and volunteers.

The awards dinner was at the Vigo County Public Library. Awards were given along with dinner and presentations. Mary Knox was awarded Volunteer of the Year and Diana Fagg was awarded Staff Member of the Year.

Vigo County Casa Director Glenna Cheesman said it’s important to recognize those who support our community.

“Volunteers, they work tirelessly, day and night,” Cheesman said. “Just to be able to acknowledge them and to tell them that we appreciate all that they do for the children of our community. That’s why tonight is so important.”

Vigo County Casa provides trained community volunteers to advocate and represent neglected children within the juvenile court system.
