TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Preparations for this weekend’s St. Patrick’s Day festivities are underway at St. Patrick School.

Starting Saturday morning, the Irish Dash will begin at 9 a.m. with check-in starting at 7:30 a.m. To register for the dash you can visit their website at saintpat.school.

The parade will begin at 1 p.m. starting on Ohio Street and leading to St. Patrick’s School. A food truck social will also be happening from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the school’s parking lot.

Then wrapping up the festivities, the event will end with a St. Patrick’s Day party from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

These events are to help raise money for St. Patrick School’s 7th and 8th grade Washington D.C. field trip. Students with St. Patrick School said they are excited to have everyone see what they’ve been working on.

“It just makes us feel really great about what we’ve been doing. Cause after taking all the time to do it, you know you want people to think it’s a good opportunity to have,” Seventh-grade student with St. Patrick School Mark Lee said.

“To see what you’ve worked on it just makes you feel like you’ve accomplished something,” Lincoln Zwerener, a Seventh-grade student with St. Patrick School said. “And it kind of brings something back to you that you put in the effort to help your class and your school.”

Tickets for the St. Patrick’s Day Party will be available at the school or church office.
