VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Minnesota man was arrested after leading law enforcement in a pursuit on SR 63 reaching speeds in excess of 100 mph.
According to the Vermillion County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on Tuesday, March 14 at 2:51 p.m. along SR 63 in the Newport area.
A deputy attempted to pull over a Mustang that was headed southbound after clocking the vehicle at 104 mph near the intersection of SR 71 and SR 63. The driver reportedly refused to stop and led the deputy in a pursuit for a short time.
The Sheriff said a second deputy was able to get ahead of the pursuit, which caused the driver to pull over.
Deputies placed Moses O. Oluoch, 19, of Minnesota, under arrest and took him to the Vermillion County Jail.
The Sheriff said Oluoch was charged preliminarily with the following;
- Resisting law enforcement with a vehicle
- A level 6 felony
- Reckless driving
- A class C misdemeanor
- Illegal possession of alcohol
- A class C misdemeanor
Oluoch was reportedly released, after posting bond.
