VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Update: Emergency personnel responded to the scene of a single-vehicle rollover accident in the northbound lanes of SR-63 just south of County Road 1780 South Monday.
The crash happened just before 6:00 p.m., Indiana State Police Sgt Matt Ames said that a vehicle pulling an empty horse trailer was traveling northbound when it encountered a construction zone.
Due to the narrow roadway from construction, the back tires of the trailer left the roadway causing the vehicle to leave the road as well. The vehicle then drove down into a ravine where it rolled over.
Ames reports the driver of the vehicle was okay, however, a passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities with the Vermillion Co. Sheriff’s Office said the road was closed for a period of time for clean up.
