TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Employees from a local company rolled up their sleeves and helped spruce up downtown Terre Haute on Friday.
A team of 12 Sony DADC employees spent the morning cleaning up Wabash Avenue. They worked from 3rd Street down to 9th Street and even cleaned up some of the side streets along the way.
Employees said they wanted to do something to give back to the community. When they heard about the Music at the Crossroads event happening tonight, they saw it as a good opportunity to help.
“Honestly it’s just a good team-building experience where we can all be outside of the office together doing something where we’re helping the community and getting to spend time with one another when we’re not at work,” said Shelley Utley, Director of Human Resources at Sony DADC.
The Music at the Crossroads event is going on until midnight at 7th and Wabash. Proceeds from ticket sales benefit Chances and Service for Youth’s Big brothers, Big sisters program.
