TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Workers laid off by Sony DADC are likely eligible for benefits and assistance through the Trade Adjustment Assistance program.

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development announced that workers laid off between the dates of Jan. 25, 2021, and April 19, 2024, may be eligible to apply for TAA Benefits

Those benefits and services include funding to pay for 100% of training costs, up to 130 weeks of income-support payments, as well as reimbursement of 90% of allowable costs to travel to a job search activity or relocate for new employment.

The TAA is administered through the US Department of Labor and assists workers who have lost their jobs due to foreign trade.
