ST. MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A new baby alpaca was recently welcomed into the world at the White Violet Center at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.
Jack Francis was born about two weeks ago and staff said he was born a little underweight but is growing fast. Once Jack gains a few more pounds he can be introduced to baby Pax who was born back in the Spring.
Farm projects coordinator Tara Elmore said Jack is looking forward to meeting Pax so they can run around together.
“All alpacas have different personalities. Jack’s is so far we’re just learning a little bit about him but he is very curious. Alpacas generally are and he seems to have a very sweet temperament. Pax on the other hand is just a fireball of energy, just runs, has no brakes,” Elmore said.

The farm will have an open house on Saturday, November 25.
