ST. MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A local program that helps people develop their leadership skills is currently accepting applications for its 12th cohort.
The program, supported by a partnership between Saint Mary-of-the-Woods and the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce, is called the Wabash Valley Leadership Institute Program. It’s a week-long immersive program that takes place on the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods campus.
The Wabash Valley Leadership Insitute Program is currently scheduled to take place from May 22-26. The Wabash Valley Leadership Insitute Program allows participants to hear and learn from leaders from around the Wabash Valley.
Brady Hansel is the Vice President and Trusts Officer at the Hometown Savings Bank and participated in the program last year. Hansel shared what he enjoyed most about participating.
“Just learning from the other different leaders there. There’s no one right or wrong way to deal with a situation. It’s just a matter of what you’re gifted with and using your skills to deal with a situation,” Hansel said.
Chris Lozier, Executive Director of Admissions at SMWC also noted the benefits the program brings to the community.
“A lot of people are moving in the right direction and sometimes it’s just connecting those dots, right? Helping everybody kind of forge a path forward as far as leadership and the betterment of our community,” Lozier said.
